The National Chairman of the Ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC) has alleged that the stabilized democracy we are enjoying as a country can all
be labelled at the doorstep of the NDC.

At the 33rd anniversary celebration of the formation of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Asiedu alluded that the NDC led a crusade to move from
a sole commissioner of the Electoral Commission to a Commissioner of seven members so no political party can manipulate election results.

According to him, there have an instance where a government in power lost an election but forced the sole commissioner to evacuate is position for any person who
has nothing to do with the Electoral processes to declare elections in favour of the government.
The NationalChairman urged the constitutional review committee to engage surviving members of the consultative assembly so the can understand the motive behind some of the reforms in the
1992 constitution.
He is the view that the decision taken some years ago to ban chiefs from active politics has yield a positive result for the country, adding that when there is a controversy among political actors
they all run to traditional rulers for their council.
