Asante Kotoko SC has announced that the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Okraku, will visit the club’s leadership on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the club’s secretariat.

The visit is part of ongoing engagements following the tragic events at Nana Koramansah Park, where dedicated Kotoko supporter Francis ‘Nana Pooley’ Frimpong lost his life after being fatally stabbed during the team’s Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman.

Kotoko has been vocal in its demand for justice and accountability, suspending all football-related activities in protest.

The club has called for significant reforms to ensure the safety of players, officials, and supporters at football venues across the country.

The visit is expected to provide an avenue for discussions on security measures at league venues, the well-being of supporters, and the club’s stance on its participation in future competitions.

As Kotoko continues to mourn the loss of Nana Pooley, the club remains firm in its position that football in Ghana must undergo significant improvements to prevent such incidents from occurring again.

The outcome of Thursday’s meeting could play a crucial role in determining Kotoko’s next steps regarding their involvement in the Ghana Premier League and other competitions.

Gasperini expressed his frustration, stating that Lookman is “one of the worst penalty takers I’ve ever seen,” highlighting his poor record even in training sessions.

Gasperini also noted that designated penalty takers Charles De Ketelaere and Mateo Retegui were available, but Lookman, in a moment of enthusiasm after scoring, decided to take the ball, a gesture Gasperini did not appreciate.

This penalty miss contributed to Atalanta’s exit from the Champions League, with the team trailing 3-0 at halftime and ultimately losing 5-2 on aggregate. Gasperini also criticized captain Rafael Toloi for receiving a red card during the match, emphasizing the importance of maintaining composure
