
The Eastern north Regional Police command through a targeted special operation has arrested three (3) suspects for unlawful possession of Indian Hemp (contraband goods)
on the Volta Lake at Asuboni Odumase in the Kwahu South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Police intercepted one(1) pump action gun, eighty-five(85) maxi sacks of compressed and non compressed substances suspected to be indian hemp with a total weight of 3999.1kgand two(2) outboard motors from suspects.
The suspects are Abraham Agona age 22,Micheal Akuaku age 17 and confidence Amenuveve age 21 who were all arrested at the scene.
Upon interrogation,they claimed to be waiting for a person identified as Felix who is believed to be their leader.


Speaking to the press briefing,the Eastern North regional police commander,DCOP Isaac Kwadwo Asante stated all exhibits have been retrieved and retained for evidential purposes,
while the suspects are currently in police custody assisting ongoing investigations.
he also stated efforts are underway to trace and apprehend other accomplices invoved in the operation.
DCOP Isaac Kwadwo Asante also took the opportunity to thank their informants for their support and information which is helping the police administration in their operations
and therefore pleaded with all Ghanaians to inform police of any illegalities in their area.
