Nana Opoku Agyeman, Odikro of Dominase in the Asunafo north district of the Ahafo region , has appealed to MP Hon. Haruna Mohamed and MCE Hon. Joseph Akparibo to support the completion of the community’s police station, improve the CHPS compound, and upgrade the primary school.
Speaking to victory fm news, The Odikro made the appeal when the MP and the MCE paid a courtesy visit to the Dominase community during a community clean-up exercise.
He explained that the CHPS compound serves several surrounding communities but is too small, while the primary school also faces overcrowding due to inadequate classroom space.
Nana Opoku Agyeman expressed his appreciation to Hon. Haruna Mohamed and Hon. Joseph Akparibo for visiting the Dominase community and taking part in the clean-up exercise.
Mr Alou Emanuel, a Senior Midwife at the Dominase CHPS Compound also appealed to authorities to address challenges affecting the facility.
He raised concerns over the lack of security, particularly during night duties, saying it puts health workers at risk. He also mentioned the shortage of benches for clients and inadequate staffing at the facility.
The MP for Asunafo North, Hon. Haruna Mohamed, described the poor condition of the Dominase CHPS compound as unfortunate, noting that it has not been renovated since its construction. He said the facility serves several surrounding communities, placing pressure on its limited capacity.
He disclosed that a new CHPS facility is being constructed at Fianko to reduce the workload on the Dominase facility. He also assured residents that, together with the MCE, Hon. Joseph Akparibo, measures have been put in place to renovate and improve the Dominase CHPS compound.
